03 May Dolphin Tour Today in Myrtle Beach: Your Same-Day Booking Guide
TL;DR
Same-day dolphin tours are usually available from Blue Wave Adventures in Murrells Inlet — especially morning departures and weekday afternoons. Call 843-340-7713 first for live availability, then book online. Free parking at Crazy Sister Marina, 1.5-hour cruises, departures throughout the day in season. Here’s how to lock one in this afternoon.
You’re in Myrtle Beach. The kids are asking. The afternoon is open. You want to do something — and a dolphin cruise just popped up on Google. Can you actually book one for today?
Yes, in most cases. Here’s the practical guide.
Can I Book a Dolphin Tour for Today?
In Murrells Inlet, yes — same-day bookings are available on the majority of days. A few realistic caveats:
- Morning departures usually have the best same-day availability. They book later than afternoon and sunset slots in summer.
- Summer weekends fill earliest. Saturday and Sunday peak-season same-day availability is tighter; weekdays are usually open.
- Holiday weekends are the exception (4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day). Plan a day or two ahead.
- Tomorrow morning is your reliable backup. If today is full, the first morning sailing tomorrow is the highest-availability slot we run.
The fastest way to know what’s open right now is to call us at 843-340-7713. We can tell you what’s available, what’s filling up, and what’s the smartest booking window for your group.
How to Book in the Next 30 Minutes
There are three ways to lock in a Blue Wave Adventures dolphin cruise today.
1. Call Us — Most Reliable for Same-Day
Phone: 843-340-7713
Calling is the fastest path on the day-of. We can confirm availability, hold your spot while you drive over, and answer questions about the boat options before you book. We’re open 7 AM to 7 PM daily.
2. Book Online
Live availability is on our booking pages:
- Tursi-Ops Dolphin Watch Cruise → — our 40-passenger family boat with shaded seating, restroom, and 360-degree viewing
- Osprey Premium Dolphin Watch → — our small-group boat that puts you level with the dolphins, sea spray and all
You can also check live booking times here to see today’s open slots across both boats. If a tour is sold out online for today, scroll to tomorrow’s morning departures or call us — sometimes online inventory closes early.
3. Walk Up at Crazy Sister Marina
Walk-ups can work on shoulder-season weekdays and slower summer mornings. We don’t recommend it on summer weekends — you may drive in for nothing.
If you’re nearby and want to roll the dice, our office is at Crazy Sister Marina, 4123-B US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Free parking on-site.
Today’s Typical Departure Schedule
In peak season (March–October), our morning Tursi-Ops dolphin watch cruises typically depart at 8:00 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:45 AM — with afternoon and sunset sailings added based on conditions and demand.
- Morning departures (8:00, 9:45, 11:45 AM) — best sea conditions for wildlife viewing, calmest water, easiest same-day availability
- Afternoon and late-afternoon departures — fits before dinner, great for families coming from the north end
- Sunset cruises in summer — book ahead; these fill first
In shoulder season (November, early March): typically morning and early afternoon only.
In winter (December–February): limited schedule — call to confirm what’s running on a given day.
The best same-day booking move on most days is to grab the first available morning departure if it’s still mid-morning. The next-best move is to book tomorrow’s first morning sailing.
Driving to Crazy Sister Marina
We launch from Crazy Sister Marina, 4123-B US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Free on-site parking. Get directions on Google Maps →
Drive times from common Myrtle Beach hotel zones:
- Central Myrtle Beach / oceanfront strip: 25–30 minutes south on Highway 17
- North Myrtle Beach / Cherry Grove: 40–45 minutes south
- Garden City / Surfside Beach: 10–15 minutes south
- Pawleys Island / Litchfield Beach: 10–15 minutes north on Highway 17 Business
- Conway: 30 minutes east on Highway 544
- Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR): 25 minutes south
Allow buffer time during summer weekends — Highway 17 traffic builds in the afternoon.
Arrival and Check-In
Arrive at Crazy Sister Marina at least 20 minutes before your tour departs. That gives you time to:
- Park (free, on-site)
- Check in at our office
- Use the marina restrooms
- Walk to the boat with the rest of your group
We can’t hold the boat for late arrivals. If you’re running behind, call us immediately at 843-340-7713 — we’ll do our best to reschedule you to the next available departure.
What to Bring
Quick same-day list:
- Sunglasses (polarized help)
- Sunscreen (apply before boarding)
- Hat with a brim
- Light jacket (the water is 10–15°F cooler than shore in spring and fall)
- Water bottle
- Phone or camera with a strap
- Closed-toe shoes or sandals with straps
If you’re prone to seasickness, take a motion sickness remedy 30 minutes before departure.
If Today Is Sold Out
Don’t let it kill the plan. Three solid backup moves:
1. Try the Other Boat
If the Tursi-Ops is full but you haven’t checked the Osprey Premium (or vice versa), check it. Both run the same waters, see the same dolphins, and depart from the same marina. The Tursi-Ops is the family-friendly 40-passenger option with 360-degree viewing; the Osprey is our small-group boat that puts you closer to the action. They have separate schedules and inventories.
2. Inquire About a Private Charter
If you’re a group of 6 or more and today is full on public sailings, a same-day private charter is sometimes available — especially on weekdays. We can run a custom departure on either boat for groups looking to lock in a today-or-tomorrow window.
- Tursi-Ops Private Charter → (up to 40 passengers)
- Osprey Premium Private Charter → (small-group)
- Or contact us directly →
3. Book Tomorrow Morning
The first morning sailing tomorrow is the highest-availability slot we run, the most reliable for sightings, and the best calm-water tour of the week. If today is genuinely full, lock tomorrow morning right now — before that fills too.
What If Weather Is Iffy?
We run rain or shine. We only cancel for unsafe conditions — lightning, high winds, hazardous water. Light rain doesn’t stop us, and overcast days often produce excellent dolphin sightings.
If we cancel for weather: full refund or free reschedule, your choice.
If you’re booked and the forecast looks marginal, don’t pre-cancel. We’ll make the call closer to departure based on what’s actually happening on the water. The forecast and the reality are often different.
