11 Dec Blue Wave Adventures Featured in Inspiring Docuseries “Traveling the Spectrum”
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (Dec 11, 2024) – Blue Wave Adventures is proud to announce its role in the groundbreaking new docuseries, Traveling the Spectrum, premiering December 12, 2024, on Peacock. This inspiring series, created in partnership with Visit Myrtle Beach and The Workshop, follows the journeys of three families with members on the autism spectrum as they experience sensory-friendly vacations in the Myrtle Beach area.
Blue Wave Adventures had the honor of welcoming the Gielink Family, one of the featured families, on a memorable dolphin tour showcased in Episode 3. By providing a supportive and inclusive environment, the team helped create an experience that highlighted the joy and accessibility of travel for neurodiverse families.
“‘Traveling the Spectrum’ has the potential to change the world by helping families on the autism spectrum feel more comfortable exploring new destinations,” said Stuart Butler, Chief Marketing Officer, Visit Myrtle Beach. “By following along on their vacations and hearing their personal stories, we see the unique challenges each family faces and how our community steps up to provide a welcoming, inclusive experience.”
With nearly 87% of families with children on the autism spectrum reporting that they don’t vacation due to accessibility challenges, Traveling the Spectrum sheds light on the importance of inclusive travel practices. The series, streaming to Peacock’s 33 million subscribers, underscores Myrtle Beach’s commitment to being a welcoming destination for all.
