Spend 4th of July Weekend in Myrtle Beach

Are you celebrating America’s birthday on the shores of Myrtle Beach? You’re in for a treat! There’s plenty to do in Myrtle Beach all year long, but especially around Independence Day, the city truly comes alive. There are all kinds of activities going on this time of year, so whether you’re traveling solo, with your partner, or with the entire family, there’s sure to be something you enjoy. Check out some of these awesome 4th of July activities on your next Myrtle Beach vacation!

SEE THE FIREWORKS

What would Independence Day be without a stunning fireworks show? Luckily, there are several shows you can catch throughout the Myrtle Beach area. Perhaps the biggest fireworks display will be held at the July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza held at Broadway at the Beach. The fireworks don’t go off until 10 p.m., but the show over Lake Broadway is one that’s worth waiting for!

You can also come out and enjoy the fireworks at Cherry Grove Pier beginning at 9:30 p.m. if you want to get a spot on the beach. Want a celebration that’s a bit more intimate but still tons of fun? Come down to Murrells Inlet to enjoy the fireworks show at the MarshWalk beginning at 10 p.m. Before the fireworks, you can get dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area, making for a perfect evening all around.

RUN A 5K ON THE 4TH OF JULY

Want to stay active and get competitive on your trip? There are quite a few holiday 5Ks happening as well! First, consider the 13th Annual Independence Day 5K or the accompanying 1 Mile Fun Run and Kids’ Dash. This is one of the biggest races in the Myrtle Beach area, so it’s one you won’t want to miss! The event starts at 7 a.m. and costs $45 per registrant (as long as you sign up by June 30!).

You can also travel to North Myrtle Beach for the 4th Annual Red, White, and Blue 5K beginning from Crooked Hammock Brewery. This race also starts at 7 a.m. and will be full of runners dressed in their most festive Independence Day attire!

EMBARK ON A DOLPHIN TOUR

Eco tours in Myrtle Beach are popular all year round, but for Independence Day, taking an eco tour is a particularly great way to celebrate all the beautiful sights we have in America. The entire family can enjoy taking a trip out onto the water, learning about their surroundings, and hopefully spotting a dolphin or two along the way!

Blue Wave Adventures is proud to offer exciting dolphin tours perfect for your Myrtle Beach vacation. Our trips are suited for guests of all ages and seek to entertain and teach at the same time.
